I have had a trial period for the Multi-ed diabetes programme and have
    found it excellent.

I have been using the cardiology programme for about two years with
patients and staff. It is one of the most useful tools available. I
would be very interested in accessing the diabetes one as many of our
    cardiac patients also have diabetes.

I have used it with new staff and student nurses who love the program. It is easy to follow for them and gives them a check on their knowledge base.

An excellent learning tool for both patient and health professional.

Very useful, and informative system. The system was very easy to use and very clear for patients to understand, which enhances their care and why and where cardiac events have taken place in the body.

    Fabulous.

Very clear and concise and kept simple for patients to understand.

I cannot praise this product enough – it is comprehensive and improves patient understanding. After delivering traditional cardiac rehab for 5 years, it has revolutionised the way I provide information.

Following discussions within the Network, it is now believed that this resource is most likely to be of benefit to cardiac rehabilitation teams and patients/carer who access these services.

I used the system to teach my colleagues about heart disease – we all found it very informative & enjoyable – my colleagues can go back & revise/update at any time…

I have found the system very useful but it needs to be edited to suit local procedures. It is very helpful for patients but does tend to make the consultation longer than would otherwise be the case. Would not be happy to leave a patient watching it unsupervised on all occasions.

I would say that question 9 (The use of the system can help people who can’t speak English, or patients with learning difficulties to learn more about cardiac disease) should include the deaf or blind who are able to either listen or see the information.
The other really useful element of the program is that you can pause or rewind the program in order to be able to answer patients questions or explain things in more detail.

(Q -What was the hardest part for you using the information resource?)
A Deciding when was a good time for me to look at it – i.e. when I was feeling ready.
I could look at it over and over again.

At first the programme takes a little getting use to because the pathway on entering the site is not so clear…Obviously ‘LAUNCH’ is a clue but ‘ENTER’ may be more appropriate.
I have now had time to review this programme with my past experiences of the site….......I find it much easier to use now. The volumes do alter and places where sound has been edited are noticeable to the trained ear. However, I like the logic of the programme which means the all a patient has to do is to keep pressung NEXT to find information of relevance. I DO LIKE THIS SIMPLE APPROACH which I encourage. I have tested the programme at three levels. (1) old PC. (2) Modern PC with up to date Windows, and (3) Mac. It is very good at all levels especially on Mac. I experienced little delay in loading – GOOD. The words spoken and written words appearing are at an even pace.
    I like the programme.

Would like information on cardiac medications included.
Helped me to understand heart conditions in a clear and succinct way.

As a student I have seen the cd-rom being used in the waiting area where the patients sit in PIU for pre-assessment. The patients comment how it helps their understanding of what is happening to their body. I am also using it online to help revise for my exams, I think it is great, and schools should be using it too as it is very educational.

Voice is annoying. Time constraints in consultations limits use. Best bits – food leaflets, clear pictures and graphics. Nice to have especially for leaflets.

Excellent products and very well presented.
